XS SIGHT AND 2 MARLIN XLR 1895 45-70'S
« Thread Started on Jul 18, 2008, 6:59pm »

Here are the 2 XS Sight System Rail, front and rear sights. I have used Red Dot Scopes and Warne QD rings so I can take the scopes off and scabbard the rifles for ease of toting. The rear peep is fully adjustable and the front sight is nice and bold for dense forest shooting. Installing was very easy. I will post some targets as soon as my Gas Checks get here.
Both rifles will need leather cheek rests from http://www.coyotem1a.com/ so we won't have to do a chin weld whilest shootin. ;)

The XS Lever Scout is what I use to hold a scout scope on my Guide Gun in .45-70

Your gun looks great! 8-) My Marlin 1895 is really heavy but a really gorgeous gun. How many pounds does your gun weigh?

DUKE : Well Sir, I got a great deal on a scout scope from Leopold. It was blued in color, so I Duracoated it to match the gun a little better. I also added a third scope ring to the mount since I shoot fairly heavy bullets. I actually ruined a cheapie set of Weaver style rings. I couldn't understand why the gun wouldn't hold it's zero, until I saw the recoil was pounding the rings apart.

BARB : Ma'am, I ain't sure how much this gun weighs. I know it's factory, I ain't changed anything yet. I did have to add an extra recoil pad since it was a little to short for me to shoot comfortably. It helps too with the sometimes brutal recoil ! I reckon I'm a bit of a weenie at times.

I did see the other pics of your shortened Marlin.... I like it ! VERY nice looking piece of hardware. I think you'll do well with it.
